The SNAG Educational Endowment was founded in 1992. Its sole focus is awarding graduate and undergraduate educational scholarships each year. These are our most prestigious and highly competitive student scholarship awards. A selection committee of three independent jurors determines the awards. Three scholarships are given annually. Undergraduate and graduate students are juried separately, and at least one award goes to an undergraduate each year. As a direct result of the tremendous success of the Raffle for our Educational Endowment, SNAG's board has increased the amounts of the Educational Endowment Scholarships. Beginning in 2011, there will be three tiers of awards: one for $2,000, one for $1,500, and the third at $1,000. In addition to the scholarship money, each recipient also receives:
SNAG actively fundraises to increase the Educational Endowment trust. A raffle is held at the SNAG conference, with the proceeds going to the Endowment. Hoover & Strong Scholarship Hoover & Strong has created a new $3,000 student scholarship that will be administered through SNAG's Educational Endowment Trust. The scholarship will be awarded each year to one graduate student creating high-quality production jewelry. It will be called the Hoover & Strong Scholarship, and the first award will be given in 2011. The annual application deadline for this scholarship is March 15, the same deadline as the other Educational Endowment Scholarship. The jurors will use the following criteria for the Hoover & Strong scholarship:
