A patron underwrites each artist’s studio, building mutually meaningful relationships between local artists, and new and seasoned collectors. The Studios’ programs support the symbiotic relationship between artists and collectors essential for a thriving visual art community. The Studios nurtures symbiosis at a micro level with focus on a selected group of artists and the patrons who support them. Combined, The Studios Inc is a vital part of the visual art community’s unprecedented growth. A selection panel consisting of a variety of individuals from the Kansas City area is assembled and convenes; it is this selection panel that determines which applicants will be awarded studio space(s) in 2014. Residencies are open to all mid career visual artists. The Studios Inc does not discriminate on the basis of age, ethnicity, gender, economic or social standing, political or religious beliefs, marital status, or sexual orientation.

'"The EFA Studio Program offers subsidized studio space for artists in our building in Midtown Manhattan. Members of the Studio Program are artists with an established studio practice and are selected by a jury of respected arts professionals, through a competitive application process. Our member artists create work in wide range of media and artistic sensibilities creating a vibrant and diverse community of peers."
ELIGIBILITY Visual artists working in all forms of media are eligible. The program is designed for artists with a developed studio practice and career experience. Applicants cannot be in a college or university degree-granting program. Certain types of work cannot be accommodated for practical reasons, including large or heavy sculptures, some types of metal work, and work involving high noise levels or fire risk. Applications are judged solely on the quality of the work as presented. EFA does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation or marital status. Artists must be citizens of the United States, or must be legal U.S residents during their tenure. DEADLINE All applications must be submitted by Friday, December 16, 2011.
