The goal of the INDA is to support the recognition, documentation, and publication of excellent, diverse, and relevant works of current drawing from around the world. As a carefully designed and crafted book, the INDA series enables Manifest (a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization) to assemble a wide array of works of drawing by international artists, without the limitation of physical availability, gallery space, or shipping logistics. With this, Manifest leverages its considerable experience in publication design specifically for works of art, with a high level of sensitivity to the artist's point of view. Like all competitive Manifest projects, the INDA is juried by a carefully selected and well-qualified ten-person panel of academic and professional advisers. Note that the INDA project is open to broad interpretations of just what qualifies as 'drawing'. The publication is open to any artist submitting original works of art or design created within the past three years (2009 - 2011). Professionals and students in ALL disciplines are encouraged to submit. Manifest is eager to receive works of drawing in a wide range of applications (technical, graphic, fine art, design, architectural, digital, illustration, etc.) with the only qualification being that artwork submitted is representative of 'drawing' of some form. Submission deadline for entry: December 31, 2011 For details on how to enter visit: http://www.manifestgallery.org/inda7 Project History: In 2005 Manifest launched the International Drawing Annual project. In five completed volumes (the 6th is currently in production) the INDA has presented four hundred and seventeen works by 238 artists from around the world, and distributed the books far and wide to collectors, patrons, libraries, museum bookstores, art students, professors, and artists. Thousands view the online supplemental resources provided with each publication. The project has gathered considerable following over the past six years, making the INDA a respected source for a consistent, balanced, and intriguing sampling of excellent contemporary drawing. Manifest's book and gallery projects have become highly competitive and prestigious events for artists to be involved with. And each new project brings different artists together, with new work, in new ways, and with always surprising results. Furthermore, Manifest's books are designed and printed with the utmost care and attention to design integrity, making them exquisite documents of the art contained within. (Previous INDA books are available for viewing and purchase on the Manifest online bookstore and for purchase at Amazon.com).
